Farrells' Docklands Skylines Village rejected

Terry Farrell’s plans for a 806-home mixed-use redevelopment of the Skylines Village commercial estate in East London has been refused by Tower Hamlets

The four-tower project on the edge of Canary Wharf, which would have featured a 164m-tall skyscraper, was turned down by the London borough due to its height and ‘excessive scale’.

Developer ZBV Skylines, part of the Zog Group, was unavailable for comment.

Tower Hamlets’ official decision

The application was refused due to to its height and scale in relation to the surrounding area. Other factors included insufficient affordable housing and private amenity space , impact on residential amenity and the impact the scheme would have on traffic, highway safety and parking.

Farrells unveils Skylines Village at Docklands

[FIRST LOOK + PROJECT DATA] Farrells has drawn up plans for this mixed-use redevelopment of the Skylines Village commercial estate in East London

The six-building project features 806 private and affordable apartments; 6,910 m² of commercial space; a school and a 123-bed hotel.

The scheme by Terry Farrell’s practice for client ZBV Skylines has been submitted for planning with Tower Hamlets Borough Council.

John West, chairman of ZBV Skylines, said: ‘We now have an excellent opportunity to deliver sustainable growth that can bring long-term benefits for existing and future residents.’

The 1.4 ha site occupies a prominent position at the junction of Marsh Wall and Limeharbour in the Isle of Dogs.
