Farrell scoops Shenzhen towers job

[First look + plans] Terry Farrell has won a contest to masterplan two prominent sites within the Shenzhen Qianhai special economic zone in China

The high-profile architect’s Chinese studio, TFP Farrells, beat international stars SOM, RTKL and PLP to win the coveted masterplanning job.

The two plots are next door to the district’s Qianhaiwan metro station which is expected to play a role in boosting cross-border commerce between Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

The first 460,000m² masterplan features offices, serviced apartments, luxury residential and retail. A 320 metre-tall skyscraper and a pair of 185 metre-high gateway towers are also included in the project.
