DPP Shape co-founder departs

Mick Timpson, the former EDAW principal has left the offshoot new practice he set up less than two years ago

The co-founder of DPP Shape - which was among the first outfits to be featured in the AJ’s ongoing New Practice feature - has left the studio to join North West big hitter Taylor Young.

Timpson, who worked on the city centre masterplan for Manchester after the 1996 bombing, has moced to Taylor Young’s urban design team.

Managing director at Taylor Young, Stephen Gleave, said: ‘We are all really looking forward to Mick being here, together we can win and implement fantastic new work.  Mick`s skill and experience will bring even more opportunities to combine our architecture, urban design and landscape skills and to help clients deliver great projects.’

Meanwhile a spokesperson for DPP Shape said: ‘Mick leaves with our best wishes and a hope that we have the opportunity to work together in the future as the market dictates. Business continues and all enquiries and contact in relation to DPP Shape’s services is, as usual, through managing director, Shelagh McNerney.’
