Doors open on S&P's £23 million Dagenham pool

Work has completed on the £23 million Becontree Heath leisure centre in Dagenham, east London

Designed by S&P Archtiects, the scheme features a 25m pool with movable floor, a smaller 13m mother and baby pool, a gym, three workout studios and a multi-purpose sports hall.

The new centre replaced the former pool and Wood Lane Sports Centre and will be used as a training venue for the 2012 London Olympics.

The building will be opened up to the public as part of the Open House London weekend later this month.
