DGA Architects completes 29m-high landmark tower
DGA has completed a stainless steel ‘minaret’ on Brick Lane in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Standing outside the Grade II-listed Brick Lane Mosque the new tower is part of an initiative to boost tourism and business in Tower Hamlets.
The 29m-high structure has eight drum-like sections of filigree stainless steel that are mirrored to form a pattern and is topped-out with a stainless steel spike.
The tower is the first part of a phased Brick Lane Cultural Trail initiative, which is funded by £8.6 million the developer of Bishop’s Square in Spitalfields gave to the council for community projects.
