DC CABE seeking new top-level recruits

Design Council CABE is looking to recruit a new head of design review as well as a head of programme development

The two appointments finalise the organisation’s new management team following the appointment of Nahid Majid as DC CABE design director earlier this year.

The fresh job opportunities have emerged just weeks after the former head of policy and programmes, Rachel Fisher, was made redundant.

According to a statement, the head of programme development is a new role reflecting the team’s move towards greater financial independence as public funding reduces.

The job will involve promoting a wide range of DC CABE services including design review, but also early advice on professional teams, scope of project, ongoing advice once outline planning permission is granted, and post-completion assessment.

The head of design review will replace Kirsteen Mackay, who leaves the organisation this month after more than four years.

Paul Finch, deputy chair of the Design Council and CABE chair, said: ‘These are important posts and the people appointed will play a critical role in helping us continue our work in promoting design quality across the built environment.’

The organisation will relocate to new offices within Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Stirling Prize-shortlisted Angel Building at the end of this month.
