Damien Hirst, Vivienne Westwood and Amanda Levete: 52 artists design playing cards for Shelter
Fifty-two of the country’s leading artists have each designed a single playing card to create a unique deck for Shelter’s House of Cards campaign
The artists include Damien Hirst, Marc Quinn, Vivienne Westwood and Amanda Levete of Amanda Levete Architects, who designed the Three of Hearts (pictured above).
The deck of cards will be displayed at the Haunch of Venison gallery in London from Thursday 24 September until Monday 28. Throughout the exhibition, members of the public can place silent bids on the artwork to raise money for the housing charity. A selection of the artworks will be placed in a live auction on the closing night.
The exhibition will also include a 53rd card which has been designed by a member of the public and chosen through a nationwide competition created by Shelter.
A thousand limited-edition, oversized packs of the cards will go on sale at www.shelterhouseofcards.org.uk from 24 September with all profits going to the charity.
