Cottrell and Vermeulen unwraps Royal London Hospital playspace

Cottrell and Vermeulen with Studio Myerscough has cut the ribbon on a £1 million activity space for Barts and The London Children’s Hospital in Whitechapel

The scheme features an oversized story telling chair, larger-than-life owl, a ‘gentle giant’ tiger and a climb-in television.

Morag Mysercoughsaid: We wanted to create a place that was an escape for the young patients, an engaging place that was fun, playful & colourful, but at the same time gave the opportunity for the whole family to relax together.’

The HOK-designed £1.1 billion Royal London hospital completed last year.
