Cooper Architects scoops Ardrossan pavilion contest

Emerging Scottish outfit Cooper Architects has won the RIAS Consultancy-backed contest to design a new seafront pavilion in Ardrossan, Ayrshire

Set up by former Anderson, Bell + Christie associate Cathy Cooper , the practice saw off 69 entrants including fellow finalists Niall McLaughlin Architects, Studio KAP, ARPL and Gillespies to land the project for the Irvine Bay Regeneration Company.

The £400,000 scheme will replace an existing toilet block.

James Ledgerwood of the Irvine Bay Regeneration Company described the proposals as ‘architecturally outstanding, yet realistic.’
