Competition launched for new playground at Royal London Hospital

A contest has been launched to find a design team to create a children’s play space and exterior garden within Britain’s largest new hospital

The competition is being organised by the RIBA and managed by Vital Arts - the arts organisation for Barts and the London NHS Trust- on behalf of the Royal London Hospital, east London.

The hospital in Whitechapel has been by HOK Architects and is set to open in 2012.

Architect-led multi-disciplinary teams are invited to send in their expression of interest along with the accompanying PQQ document. The organisers will then invite a selection of teams to draw up detailed designs,

The deadline for submissions is 15 September 2010.  Details of how to register and are available from RIBA Competitions by clicking here.
