Colin Tweedy appointed Buildings Centre managing director

Colin Tweedy has been appointed as the new managing director of London’s The Building Centre

Spencer de Grey, Building Centre Trust chair and Foster and Partners head of design, welcomed Tweedy into the role during a street party organised as part of the London Festival of Architecture.

Tweedy – who was previously chief executive at Arts and Business – received an OBE in 2000 for his services to business partnership within the arts.

Spencer de Grey said: ‘Colin is an influential business leader. He has worked with significant charities, educational Trusts and brands, large and small, in the Art and the Built Environment sectors.

‘We are delighted that Colin has joined The Building Centre, his appointment reinforces The Building Centre’s philosophy for close collaboration between culture and industry and we look forward to an exciting future ahead’

Tweedy will be based at The Building Centre’s Store Street headquarters.
