Chipperfield on Hackney estate revamp shortlist

David Chipperfield Architects is among a handful of star practices shortlisted to redevelop Hackney Council’s Colville Housing Estate in London

The Stirling Prize-winning studio has teamed up with Karakusevic Carson Architects in the competition to design the third, high-rise phase of the estate’s regeneration.

Karakusevic Carson with Mae Architects masterplanned the entire regeneration proejct.

Other practices competing for the £25 million scheme are Schmidt Hammer Lassen, NL Architects with What Architecture, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris with Haptic, Maccreanor Lavington with Sergison Bates, Feilden Clegg Bradley and Stephen Marshall Architects.

The project located opposite Shoreditch Park is expected to features two towers of 14 and 20-storeys respectively.
