[First look + plans + project data]Buckley Gray Yeoman has won planning permission to refurbish Commodity Quay at St Katharine Docks in London

The 9,300m² office scheme is one of sixteen planning applications for the area recently approved by local authority Tower Hamlets Council.

The project for owners Max Property Group also features two restaurant units and a health club.

In October last year Buckley Gray Yeoman took over from Gaunt Francis to work on the office-led refurbishment of the high-profile London marina.

Paul White, director at Buckley Gray Yeoman Architects, said: ‘We are delighted that this important scheme is progressing. The vision for this intricate project is to create a first-class leisure and commercial destination at St Katharine Docks, forming a clear connection between this often over-looked pocket of London and its prominent surroundings.’

Ben Walford of Prestbury Investments, Max Property Group’s investment advisor, said;

‘These recent planning approvals are vital to the enhancement of this stunning and unique central London business destination and so we are delighted with the council’s, residents’ and occupiers’ positive decision.

‘These refurbishments have helped us recently let the last vacant space of International House and we are now focussed on ensuring that the right occupier is found for the breathtaking building Buckley Gray Yeoman has designed for us at Commodity Quay which will be delivered in just over 12 months.’
