British Council announces Venice Takeaway explorers

The British Council has revealed its 10-strong list of participants in its Venice Takeaway programme for the British Pavilion at the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale

Architects chosen to explore overseas locations and gather research for the project include Aberrant Architecture, dRMM and Toh Shimazaki.

Owen Pritchard will travel to the USA and Thailand with Torange Khonsari, Andreas Lang and Alex Warnock-Smith as part of the scheme.

118 entries were made to the programme in which participants will undertake expeditions to a variety of locations around the world next month.

Vicky Richardson said: ‘we were really pleased that so many people from diverse backgrounds responded to the Venice Takeaway brief. The proposals contained many surprises and new ideas; and we’re excited to see what comes out of the next stage of the project.’
