Stride Treglown’s Salisbury Law Court swiped the BREEAM Courts award. According to the judges ‘the scheme maximises natural ventilation and reduces water consumption’.

AHP Architects & Surveyors received the BREEAM Ecohomes award for Sanderstead Road in Croydon. The scheme for Metropolitan Housing Trust uses ‘responsibly’ procured timber frames and is highly insulated.

Carol Atkinson, chief executive of BRE Global said: ‘These buildings have comprehensively demonstrated their remarkable environmental credentials whilst also providing attractive and commercially viable accommodation, workplaces and community facilities.’

To get the Excellent rating developments must earn most of the performance credits available in the areas of: energy, materials, waste, water, ecology, pollution, transport, management, and health and wellbeing.
