Berman Guedes Stretton designs new wing for Oxford College

[First look + plans] Berman Guedes Stretton has revealed new plans for an academic wing at Wolfson College, Oxford

The building will house a lecture hall, seminar rooms, academic offices, an extension to the library and an exhibition and cafe space.

The practice has designed the new building using a similar palette of materials to the Powell and Moya 1967 design, ‘with a full understanding of the merits of the original building’. 

Completion of the lecture hall is due in December 2012 and will be built by contractors Benfield & Loxley.

Berman Guedes Stretton have previously designed two residential blocks in the grounds of the college.
