BDP bags £10m Hampshire Hospital job

BDP has beaten five other practices including Hopkins and HLM to win a job to design a new £10m facility for Hampshire Hospitals

The design team at BDP will work with Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to create a new cancer treatment centre just outside Winchester that combines radiotherapy, chemotherapy and palliative care.

The full shortlist, released last November, included: BDP, HLM, Hopkins, John Cooper Architecture, Stantec Ashen and Allen, and Steffian Bradley and was selected from over 30 initial submissions.

Speaking about BDP’s design for a ‘hospital without corridors’, Nick Fairham, architect director for BDP said: ‘Our design focuses on the needs of patients, families and staff to provide a truly supportive and flexible environment while offering state of the art clinical services.’
