Emerging London-based practice beats international field of contenders to win mixed leisure, faith and educational Phase 2 of Dubai Sustainable City

London’s Baharash Architecture has seen off a shortlist of ‘prominent international’ practices to land the second phase of the 46 hectare Dubai Sustainable City project.

Founded by ex-RMJM senior designer Baharash Bagherian, the practice is set to open an office in Dubai on the back of the victory against anonymous teams from USA, Lebanon, Jordan, UK, and the United Arab Emirates.

The wider masterplan for the ‘environmental, social and economically’ sustainable city was drawn up by Australian planning expert Stringa. The

Baharash Architecture’s second stage features a mosque, an Institute for Ecological Engineering, a museum and planetarium, a green school, an eco-resort, country club and equestrian centre.
