Arts Council launches £20 million grants fund

The Arts Council England is inviting bidders for a chunk of its £20 million grants small capital investment programme

The fund is aimed at organisations pursuing development plans which exclude large-scale work.

Organisations may apply for awards between £100,000 and £499,999.

Two funding rounds will take place over two years and organisations have been encouraged to contact the Arts Council before applying.

Arts Council England chief executive Alan Davey said: ‘The Arts Council understands that like any trade, artists and performers need the right tools and facilities to effectively deliver and develop their craft. And audiences need places where they can properly interact with the art or performance.

‘Our Capital investment programme is a very practical way of helping to develop the arts infrastructure in this country so that organisations can flourish and continue to produce the excellent work that audiences want to see.’

The investment is part of the organisation’s strategic funding drive which aims to encouraging private giving and build audiences for the arts.
