ARB to cut retention fees
The Architects Registration Board (ARB) has announced it will slash annual fees, following pressure to reduce its cost to the profession
The regulatory body this week agreed to several cost reductions including an end to staff bonuses, slicing £147,000 off its bill.
As a result the £86 annual retention fee for architects will fall, and inside sources claim it could drop by up to 10 per cent.
ARB’s sponsor, the Department of Communities and Local Government, asked the quango to make savings of seven per cent.
It is understood that the government’s proposed Autumn Public Bodies Bill could set out plans for the abolition of ARB.
