AJ Exclusive: Civic Trust unveils awards shortlist

Richard Rogers’ Stirling Prize finalist, the Bodegas Protos winery in Spain, is among 44 projects shortlisted for this year’s Civic Trust Awards

Other buildings in line to win either an award or commendation at the 2010 Civic Trust Awards Ceremony on Friday 12 March at St George’s Hall, Liverpool, include Keith Williams Architects’ Wexford Opera House, Union North’s Midland Hotel in Morecambe and Thomas Heatherwick’s Creative Arts Units in Aberystwyth, Wales.

Award patron, architect and television presenter George Clarke said: ‘[The] Civic Trust Awards aim to recognise excellence in design whilst having a positive impact on local communities they serve.

‘From cafés to churches, housing to hospitals, public realm to public art, the Civic Trust Awards offer an opportunity for community focussed built environment success to be celebrated on a truly national level.’

AJ and NCE partner Civic Trust Awards

The Architects’ Journal has teamed up with New Civil Engineer to be the official Media Partner of the Civic Trust Awards
