Aedas completes Manchester police brace
The Greater Manchester Police Authority has moved into its new Aedas-designed divisional headquarters in the Central Park business park
The £30 million, 11,600m2 project sits next to the force headquarters block (see below), also drawn up by the practice, which was handed over last year.
Delivered through a joint venture between Ask and Goodman, the building provides administrative, operational and custody facilities.
The four storey L-shaped block provides open plan office space ‘wrapped around two sides of the single storey custody suite, which houses 30 cells’.
A double height internal ‘street’ separates the two functions, creating internal circulation route through the ground floor.
