ACA to reveal early fee scale findings
The Association of Consultant Architects (ACA) will reveal its initial findings next week as part of its bid to create an evidence-based replacement for the abolished RIBA fee scales
In September the association announced plans to draw up an alternative to the abolished RIBA fee survey graphs (pictured) with a survey showing how many hours it takes architects to resource a job.
The revelation followed reports of plummeting fee levels which saw average percentage bids drop as low as 1.8 per cent.
On Tuesday (10 May) next week the ACA will reveal its early research as part of a seminar at the Alan Baxter Gallery in London.
The organisation is expected to unveil a prototype fee survey aimed at helping clients ‘accurately assess the time and effort required to deliver a good service for architectural projects.’
An ACA statement explained: ‘We are looking at the time required to carry out projects over the last 10 years. This research will allow us to publish a contemporary recommended fee scale which reflects contemporary staff salaries and appropriate overheads and profit margins.’
Speakers will include Alfred Munkenbeck of Munkenbeck and Partners, ACA president Brian Waters and development consultant Vincent Wang.
