A dose of CABE is good for you, says Tory

Shadow housing minister Grant Shapps has likened our friends at the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment to bacteria drink Yakult

Speaking at the RIBA earlier this week, he suggested CABE may be spared from the Conservatives’ much-hyped, cost-cutting ‘Bonfire of the Quangos’.

Shapps said: ‘Lets call it’s more like a barbecue of the quangos.’

He added: ‘Like bacteria, there are good and bad quangos. CABE might be one of the better bacteria.’

  • This may be the case but are you aware the Conservatives also wish to abolish the Architects Act - meaning any tom, dick or harry can call themselves architects and discredit the profession - oh by the way, dont rely on the RIBA to bail you out - they can hardly run themselves - what do others think ?
