3R Awards to host retrofit debate
3R Awards will a host a free panel event next week at the Building Centre in London
Focussing on Bennetts Associates’ Elizabeth II Court retrofit project in Winchester, speakers will include AJ editorial director Paul Finch, AJ sustainability editor Hattie Hartman, Peter Fisher of Bennetts Associates and Ian Harrison of Davis Langdon.
The discussion will take place between 6.30pm and 8pm on Thursday 9 June at the NLA Gallery in the Building Centre on Store Street, London
Bennetts’ Elizabeth II Court project won last year’s Commercial Building prize at the Retrofit awards and the UK Green Building Council’s Sustainable Project of the Year accolade in 2009.
The 3R Awards programme, which stands for ‘Refurb, Rethink, Retrofit’, represents all areas of the retrofit and refurbishment markets – estimated to be worth £500 billion over the next three decades.
Backed by the AJ and sister titles Construction News and New Civil Engineer, the award categories range from one-off homes to major infrastructure projects, and prizes will be given not just to engineers and architects but to also products designs and specialist companies.
The deadline for entries is 1 July.
