Top ArupSport players join Aecom

US multi-disciplinary giant Aecom has snaffled up a number of key players from ArupSport, including its director, J Parrish

The AJ understands another four architects have jumped ship to join London-based Parrish at Aecom’s Global Sports group, which is led by Peter Flint.

Aecom has previously worked with ArupSport on projects including the Singapore Sports Hub (pictured) and is aiming to increase its role in the sports sector.

Flint said: ‘Parrish’s impressive experience will be a tremendous asset in expanding our sports-related work in Europe and elsewhere around the globe.’

In recent years, Aecom has made a number of high-profile acquisitions including masterplanning experts Edaw in 2005, engineers FaberMaunsell, US architecture and engineering outfit Ellerbe Becket and quantity surveyors Davis Langdon for £200 million in 2010.

Rumours last year that Aecom was looking to buy a big-hitting architectural practice, such as HOK, Aedas or Gensler, were denied by the company.
