Purcell joins Women in Architecture programme
Heritage specialist Purcell becomes latest practice to join campaign
The company has become the highest-ranking AJ100 practice so far to join AJ’s Women in Architecture campaign.
The Bermondsey-based firm said that it was keen to support the progress of women in the industry, adding that it currently has more female architects working for it than at any time in its history.
In addition, all three of the new studios which the heritage specialist opened in the last year are led by women: Laura Highton in Nottingham, Delyth Williams in Manchester and Amanda Needham in Cardiff.
Purcell chief executive, Mark Goldspink said that while the industry has made “great strides” to tackle issues relating to equality and raise the profile of female practitioners, there was more that practices could do collectively to make this happen.
‘The AJ campaign will support and celebrate the work of women in architecture and we look forward to getting involved,’ he added.
