Aedas wins green light for hillside Dewsbury crematorium

Aedas has won the go-ahead for this £2.6 million, Cor-ten crematorium building in Dewsbury, Yorkshire

Replacing a 1960s building, the hillside scheme features a 7m cantilevered roof floating above an orthogonal sandstone and granite plinth.

A car park is cut into the slope behind the building.

The project is due to start on site in August 2010, with completion expected in July 2011.
