Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
Full architectural services on a building conservation project relating to a 16th century house, a 17th century stable and an 18th century barn, the latter two being derelict, associated landscaping works etc. Services will be required from RIBA stage c (outline proposals) through to RIBA stage L (administration of contract and works). The contract will be let as a two part contract (initially to RIBA stage E- detailed design) as funding may not be available for stages F-L initially (and there is a low risk of the project not progressing beyond stage E).

Estimated value excluding VAT: 240 000 GBP.

Starting: 1.1.2009. Completion: 1.6.2010.

This project is dependant on successful bids being made to Heritage Lottery Fund and other funders. Timescales may be extended as a consequence of independent funders timetable for release of funding. It is expected that there will be a break in the contract of between 6-12 months following completion of scheme design (to RIBA stage d) and there is no guarantee that funding to progress beyond stage d will be achieved. When executing the contract within the United Kingdom, the successful bidder will be expected to comply with the recommendations of the latest statutory code of practice for equality in employment, published by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
