Competition-winning West Midlands designs revealed

Sjölander da Cruz Architects has released the first image of its competition-winning designs for a market square pavilion in the West Midlands town of Atherstone.

The Birmingham practice has completed the feasibility study for the scheme and is now searching for the funding required to build.

The predominantly glass and oak pavilion was commissioned to be a 'hub' for the town - in theory, a place for 'meeting friends, festivals, live music and parties'.

It will also mark a significant milestone in the regeneration policy of turning Atherstone into a 'book town'.
