Short description of the contract or purchase(s):
The council intends to appoint a Client Design Advisor (CDA) to maintain design standards on the Homes for Older People Project Team. The project will involve the development and associated cares services of a 60 place new care home with nursing at Maitland Park Road, London, approximately 35 units of extra care sheltered housing and potentially further units of extra care sheltered housing related to the Wellesley Road site. We are looking for candidates who are fully conversant with the UK building regulations and other statutory regulations.

Total quantity or scope of contract:
The CDA would work directly with the Council to contribute to the selection of a project provider through a Competitive Dialogue Process, providing vital independent advice on requirements; making sure that consortium bidders achieve the aspirations for the buildings. The CDA will be expected to work alongside other advisors (such as legal, procurement, financial and other technical advisors) and together promote best value outcomes for the council. The CDA will assist Camden in appraising bidders design proposals; acting as the hands-on champion for design quality on the project; ensuring a consistent standard from outline planning application through the competitive dialogue process. As part of the process for the Homes for Older People the successful bidder will then either, have the CDA Novated/"switched" to them to work as either their Architect in developing the schemes up to and including full planning submission, or, as an "Executive Architect", to work alongside their Architects and technical team, in developing the scheme up to and including full planning submission.

Estimated value excluding VAT: 600 000 GBP.

Duration of the contract:
16 months (from the award of the contract).
