City of London seals fate of unlisted Barbican block

The battle to save Chamberlain, Powell and Bon’s (CPB) 1966 Milton Court building, part of the Barbican Centre in London, has finally been lost.

On Tuesday (20 November) the City of London’s planning committee unanimously approved plans by David Walker Architects to redevelop the site and replace the existing Modernist block with a 127m-tall tower and a 13,000m2 facility for the Guildhall School of Music.
