Channel Five in bid to become architects' favourite TV channel

Channel Five is upping the ante in its efforts to oust the mighty Kevin McCloud and Sarah 'yes I’m pregnant again' Beeney as the king and queen of TV architecture.

Two new architectural offerings are planned. The first, I own Britain’s Best Home, (it’s all in the title) starts on 20 March at 8pm and will feature 10 homes – including ones by Gareth Hoskins and Leeds-based Halliday Clark.

At the end of the pageant, the Great British public – well, those who watch Channel 5 – will pick its favourite.

The second, Build a New Life, is looking for folk to jack it all in and move to a place called ‘the country’ – apparently there’s some outside most cities.

And to make it much easier, they are willing to film you. Brilliant. So, if you would like a film crew around you to document the collapse of your dreams, contact the producers on 0870 726 8871 or email
