Chanel cancels Zaha Hadid's London pavilion

Zaha Hadid’s Chanel pavilion will not be coming to London after the fashion label cancelled the building’s ‘world tour’

According to reports, Chanel admitted it had shelved the final three European legs of the tour of its Mobile Art exhibition – a temporary pavilion which houses the work of 20 up-and-coming artists.

The fashion house blamed the ‘current economic crisis’ for the decision to end the exhibition circuit early, meaning London, Paris and Moscow will all miss out on seeing the curvaceous pavilion allegedly inspired by Chanel's iconic 2.55 handbag.

The 700m² pavilion had already visited Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York’s Central Park
