Cabinet reshuffle: Don Foster leaves DCLG

Don Foster has left his role as communities minister to become the Liberal Democrats’ chief whip

Foster, who oversaw the Housing Standards Review and this year’s Part L update while heading up the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), replaces the party’s current chief whip Alistair Carmichael.

Foster took over from Andrew Stunnell in the DCLG role after last year’s cabinet reshuffle.

The appointment was announced on twitter via Prime Minister David Cameron’s twitter account @Number10gov.

A replacement for Foster at the DCLG has not yet been announced.
