Building Regulations parts A and C updated

Parts A and C of the Building Regulations have been updated, replacing the referenced British Standards with Eurocodes

The British Standards referenced in the Approved Documents were withdrawn back in 2010 and replaced by Eurocodes, the EU standard for structural design, but until now have still been referenced.

In a government impact assessment of the change it stated that: ‘the UK could face legal challenges if we do not reference the Standards based on  Eurocodes in the Approved Documents as it may be seen as putting up barriers to trade’.

Last updated in 2004, Building Regulations Part A deals with structural design, while Part C looks at site preparation and resistance to moisture and contaminants.
