Bootle to look tall thanks to Liverpool landmark

A collaboration of two practices, Calder Peel Partnership and K&J Woodward, has revealed these plans for a new landmark in Liverpool.

The scheme was submitted for planning last month and is a redevelopment of the former Stella Maris Seamans Club in the centre of Bootle.

A 13-storey Stella Nova tower sits on a two-storey podium skirting two local roads - Strand Road and Washington Parade - and will comprise a mix of retail uses on the ground floor, offices on the first floor, and 127 apartments above.

The tower has been split vertically into sections when seen from Washington Parade, with windows increasing in size from the bottom of the building to its top.

Developer Dreaming Spires hopes to get the green light for the scheme by October this year.
