Bob Allies and Jim Eyre join CABE's design review army

Bob Allies and Jim Eyre are the two stellar names on the list of CABE's new design review panellists, it has emerged.

Allies, of Allies and Morrison, and Eyre, of Wilkinson Eyre, will be joined by four other high-profile names.

Yesterday, CABE also appointed Oxford Brookes University's head of architecture Mark Swenarton, and Newcastle City Council conservation group manager Tony Wyatt to the prestigious group.

They will be joined by developer Alan Chatham, and Chris Watts, director of the sustainability consultancy Beyond Green.

The board members will undoubtedly be put under the microscope in the coming months.

Schemes in the pipeline include Rem Koolhaas' eagerly-awaited redesign of Rothschild bank's headquarters in the City of London.

The design review programme offers advice on around 400 schemes a year.

CABE chief executive Richard Simmons said: 'I'm delighted that, once again, we have been able to select new panellists of the highest calibre, who are so well respected in their fields.'
