Bin man

Living in a country where official secrets seem to go missing a couple of times a week, it is reassuring to learn that people make mistakes in other countries too.

Website Archinect relates the story of a homeless man in New York who found a set of drawings for SOM's proposed Freedom Tower in a rubbish bin.

Losing drawings is always embarrassing, but this is a particularly sensitive case, given that the tower is planned for site of the 9/11 attacks. The drawings give away information such as the positions of the stairwells and the thickness of the walls.
