Aukett Fitzroy Robinson unveils £450 masterplan in Birmingham

Aukett Fitzroy Robinson’s (AFR) has unwrapped its masterplan for the £450 million mixed-use regeneration of Birmingham’s Eastside.

Public consultation has now started on the 5ha Ventureast project, spearheaded by property developer Goodman, which will deliver 100,000m2 of office space and apartments and a hotel.

Luke Schuberth, director of AFR, said he is confident the scheme will go to planning in spring 2008.

He said: 'As the masterplanner our ultimate vision will be the creation of an exemplar sustainable design and vibrant new district for Birmingham.

'The combination of quality office space, apartments and retail amenities will lead to a significant improvement and further investment in the area and the creation of a scheme that will be a key destination for the future.'

The scheme is being funded by the Arlington Business Parks Partnership, comprising Goodman, together with Birmingham City Council and Advantage West Midlands.
