Resi? Not in my back yard, says Rees

Don’t be fooled by City Planning Officer Peter Rees’ reputation as a forward-thinking champion of contemporary architecture

At the launch of City Architecture, held this week in the so-called (but not very) Egyptian Room of Mansion House, Rees said: ‘Inside every city resident is a nimby waiting to get out, myself included.’

That’s why he says he’ll resist allowing residential developments into the City of London. Astragal agrees, besides, the people who work in the City are a load of, er, bankers.
