Off with their heads

Architecture activist Trenton Oldfield was sentenced to six months in prison last week for disrupting the Oxbridge boat race, creating a surge of responses on Twitter

While many condemned his actions, several compared the 36-year-old This Is Not A Gateway co-founder’s fate to Pussy Riot’s incarceration in Russia and comic David Schneider joked: ‘Trenton Oldfield judge: “Sentence totally in keeping with sentencing guidelines as laid down by the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland”.’ The most negative responses could one day surface in an exhibition. Prior to his incarceration, Oldfield revealed to Astragal plans for a potential joint show of hate tweets with Yellowism-founder and Rothko-defacer Vladimir Umanets.
