Michael Gove: No comment on phone hacking

Astragal notes with interest that certain politicians have remained quiet during the phone-hacking affair

In the case of ‘anti-architect’ education secretary Michael Gove, the explanation could be his attention is tied up with more … ahem … pressing concerns.

Namely the suing of BDP for £3 million over alleged defects on Westminster Academy in London. Gove and the school claim the building – designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris with BDP as lead consultant – has faulty ventilation which makes classrooms stuffy and difficult to teach in.

Of course, the completely unrelated £5,000 Gove received each month from News International in 2009 for one hour’s work a week has – we can presume – far less influence on the reason the architects’ nemesis is keeping schtum.
