Who did New London Architecture chairman Peter Murray throw out of The Building Centre last weekend?
Just a few days after the AJ Small Projects awards held a merry party at the central London venue, something of a spat arose during a public event to mark the ‘Don’t Move, Improve’ house-extensions exhibition (until 26 February).
Having failed to read out the practice biographies when introducing the participating architects, Murray invoked the wrath of one designer whose project was on display. The afternoon’s proceedings ground on, but the fury continued unabated and after describing the director as ‘a-critical’, the architect was asked to leave the building and was eventually escorted onto the street by three members of staff. More of a case of ‘Moved and Disapproved’.
