Corb lost RIBA £100,000

The hoo-ha about the dissolution of the RIBA Trust has focused on the process and, in particular, the lack of consultation with its trustees

But only last week a little birdie told Astragal about some ‘inefficiencies’ in the old Trust, including overspends which have somehow evaded the media spotlight.

According to one source the Le Corbusier show alone – which was held at both the Barbican and the Lutyens Crypt in Liverpool – managed to rack up a deficit of more than £100,000. Coincidentally the six-figure loss was roughly equivalent to the amount of money withdrawn from the RIBA regions that year. The things that emerge from the vaults…
