Architype scoops another Passivhaus planning win
[FIRST LOOK + DATA + DRAWINGS] Architype has won planning for a Passivhaus Archive and Records Centre in Hereford
The £8million project will replace the existing facilities on the site, which have been recognised as no longer fit for purpose.
The scheme features two separate blocks separated by a ‘buffer zone’ connected by upper level bridges.
The larger block contains the main archive and records storage, this will be constructed from concrete, to provide the thermally isolated and environmentally controlled conditions required for archive storage
The other smaller block will be a lightweight timber framed building and will contain all the public facilities.
The centre is expected to complete in Summer 2014.
