Allies and Morrison's Diane Haigh takes over CABE role

Allies and Morrison director Diane Haigh has been appointed to take over from Selina Mason as CABE's director of architecture and design review.

Haigh, who was instrumental in the practice's revamp of the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank and was also project architect on the Greenwich Royal Observatory scheme, will start officially in her new role in October.

She will replace former Long & Kentish and KPF architect Mason, who has been director of design review since June 2005 and is about to join the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) as its new deputy head of design (Selina Mason leaves CABE to join the ODA)

Mason spent six years with architectural watchdog CABE and will become ODA's most senior architect.
