All in a day's work as students draw up possible Olympic Park gabion designs

Designs by a group of art and design students drawn up in a day-long workshop may make it into the 2012 Olympic Park in East London.

The 50 students, from the Royal College of Art, London Metropolitan University and the University of East London, were asked to focus on the designs of the 'gabion' structures that will be used throughout the Olympic Park in the workshop held on 13 February.

ODA head of design Jerome Frost said he was so impressed by the students’ creations that there was a ‘real chance’ that at least some of the designs will be realised.
