AJ100 Awards: International Practice of the Year finalists revealed

Big-hitters HOK and Populous have bagged a place on this year’s shortlist for the AJ100 International Practice of theYear Award

The other practices vying for the International Practice of the Year gong include PRP, Purcell, Chetwoods Architects and Pascall + Watson.

Commenting on the shortlist, AJ100 analyst Bruce Tether, professor of Innovation Management and Strategy at Manchester Business School, noted that two clear types of business are competing for consideration.

‘On one hand there are big international hitters, such as HOK and Populous, while on the other, there are a handful of UK-based businesses such as Purcell, ADP and Chetwoods, which are internationalising, often from a much smaller base,’ he said.

The award is judged on key data from the AJ100 survey, such as the increase year-on-year in the number of architects the practice employs overseas.

Last year the accolade was won by 3DReid.

The winning practice will be revealed at the annual AJ100 Awards on 22 May.
