AHMM builds Monsoon HQ - image

Work has started on this Allford Hall Monaghan Morris development in west London, which will house the headquarters for retailer Monsoon.

The mixed-use project - dubbed Notting Hill Village W11 - will offer 25,000m 2of space, over seven floors of open-plan offices, luxury apartments, artists' studios, and a restaurant.

The practice will create a concrete lattice framework building for Monsoon Accessorize, which will surround an atrium running throughout the seven storeys.

The development plans to deliver 4,000m 2of state-of-the-art studios and workshops aimed at independent creative and craft companies.

There will also be space for a public art gallery, as well as a display showing Monsoon's own art collection.

Developers hope the site will be part of an area that will become home to a number of other creative and cultural businesses.

Work has just begun on the first phase and the building is due for completion in spring 2008.
